Christine Fertey-Green
Born in Paris, France my artistic journey started by studying life drawing at the École du Louvre. Having moved to England a few years later I furthered my experience studying portraiture and still life with the highly acclaimed portraitist John Jonas in London and composition with Prue Pardue (BA Oxon and RA London). My semi-abstract compositions are inspired by the shapes, forms and colours of the contemporary world and reflect my individual concepts & expressions of beauty as well as my profound sense of spirituality. Bonnard's assertion that "the only basis for an artist's work is their choice of colour and tonality" is a statement which I hold in high regard and greatly influences my paintings. I was honoured that my art was selected for the cover of a posthumous CD release of the music of jazz giant Chet Baker. My works hang in private collections in England, China, Italy, France and USA.I currently reside in South Oxfordshire with my family.
